*Provincial Consultations* IPs Pursued Security of Ancestral Domains Two provincial consultations for coalition building were conducted, in Surigao del Sur on February 13, 2007; and Misamis Oriental, on March 1-2, 2007. Both consultations involved the indigenous peoples on the basic social issue needing attention, the security of ownership of their ancestral domains.

New farm technologies for DAR-NMCIREMP IP-Beneficiaries

New farming technologies are now ready to be promoted to the farmer-beneficiaries of the DAR-NMCIREMP in the 2 regions of Northern Mindanao, Region 10 and Caraga. The inclusion of farm technologies/techniques is part of the new recalibrated framework of the Natural Resources Management (NRM) component of the DAR-NMCIREMP project. This new NRM component framework is the result of the recommendation from the officials of the IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development), the funding agency of DAR-NMCIREMP, and concurred by the officials of the UNOPs (United Nations Overseas Projects) in order to accelerate and improve the performance of NRM towards enhancement of farming and coastal resource management systems, that have potential for replication in other provinces mainly to increase the income and uplift the socio-economic condition of the indigenous peoples (IPs).

Natural Resource Management (NRM) Provincial Consultation held across Project Areas

Its been a challenging time for the NRM Component. A series of Provincial Consultation has been conducted from Feb. 12 to March 2, 2007. The consultations in the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Bukidnon, and Misamis Oriental promised a big boost to the morale of the partners, especially the target communities.
