NMCIREMP hosts IFAD’s 1st Annual Country Programme Review PDF Print E-mail

ACPoR in Butuan City, Philippines 2008

Butuan City – International Fund for Agriculture Development – Philippines (IFAD-Phil) launches its First Annual Country Programme Review (ACPoR) from May 27-30, 2008 at Dottie’s Place, Butuan City.

 

This year’s host is the Northern Mindanao Community Initiatives and Resource Management Project (NMCIREMP) with participants from IFAD, the Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, National Economic Development Authority, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, and Non-Government Organizations like the Mindanao Coalition Development (MINCODE) and Kasanyangan Rural Development Foundation Incorporated (KRDFI).

The themes of the event are: (1) Improving Programme/Project effectiveness and efficiency highlighting project experiences and best practices of IFAD funded projects; (2) Approach to Country Programme Implementation Support will discuss on the Country Programme Management Team, Supervision and Implementation Support Team, and Field Presence Team experiences; and (3) Managing Philippine Country Programme for Results is the third theme showcasing IFAD Philippines new RB-COSOP and The Philippines 2008 Country Action Plan Update.
Different presentations will be given ranging from project’s start-up, procurements, closing and transition experiences of different IFAD projects like the Rural Micro Enterprise Promotion Program (RuMEPP), Northern Mindanao Community Initiatives and Resource Management Project, Western Mindanao Community Initiatives Project (WMCIP) Project and Cordillera Highland Agricultural Resource Management Project (CHARMP.
The gathering will also discuss on the rationale and understanding of the Country Programme Management Team. Modifications and new initiatives will also be included in the updating of the 2008 Country Action Plan.
Community visits at Barangays La Purisima and Los Arcos, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur will also be made on the 29th of May 2008. The visit is to appreciate the project experiences of the community which may be helpful to other projects in the Philippines.
Mr. Sana F.K. Jata, Country Programme Manager of IFAD-Philippines hailed the event as the first to be conducted and a trailblazer towards community development projects even to new and ongoing projects in the country and in to other IFAD assisted countries through sharing of experiences theough workshops, group discussions, and community visit.
IFAD team also includes Mr. Mohamed Abdou Bousellham, the Loan Officer Officer of IFAD, Ms. Riza Rosal , the Country Programme Assistant, and Mr. Yolando C. Arban,Country Programme Management Facilitator and Knowledge Management Officer of IFAD Philippines.
